The latest edition of Extended Cinematics Workshops – XC|ACA – will be held for the first time in Beirut at The Arab Center for Architecture (ACA) from October 30 to November 03, 2014.

XC|ACA is organized in collaboration with ACA and Dawawine.

This edition is also the first time Extended Cinematics is communicated directly to professionals outside the academic environment.

Prior to the workshop, an open-public talk about Extended Cinematics will be given at Dawawine on October 16, 2014.

The  5-day intensive design workshop is open to all architects, professionals and final-year/graduate students, who are interested in film and narrative structures, but more importantly, concerned with expanding their scope of creative processes with emphasis on cross-disciplinary thinking.

The films that will be worked on – hence transformed into architecture – at this ACA edition are:

  • Mulholland Dr. (2001)
  • Noriko no Shokutaku (2005)
  • Terra Incognita (2002)
  • The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, And Her Lover (1989)

The eventual selection of films may change depending on the final number of participants.

Students: 200$

Regular: 250$

Fees include daily snacks & drinks, and an attestation of participation.
